Though he can't quite sing the ABC's yet, Jacob has been working hard on his own time learning them. The two laptops he received for Christmas (one from Grandma and Grandpa Anderson and the other from Grandma and Grandpa Cooper) have guided Jacob for hours and hours through recognizing his letters.
Jacob also received, from a friend for Christmas, a Magna-Doodle. He's absolutely determined to have everybody draw a few particular objects: a cow, a tractor, a rooster, a fish, and even a sheep sometimes. The last time Jacob asked me to draw his pictures he interrupted my creativity to give the drawing board back to Scott who, apparently, sketches with a bit more precision than I. Yesterday however, Jacob grabbed the Magna-Doodle and handed it to me. My thought was, "Oh, I get another chance to prove my artistic skills to be Jacob worthy!" I was wrong. Jacob's words were, "I nah 'O'." which translates to, "I want an 'O'.", but to me it meant, "Mom, you're really not good at drawing my animals and tractors so, since Dad isn't here, why don't we just see if you're capable of drawing an 'O'." I drew the "O" and an "L" for his next request. I decided to just write the entire alphabet and see how well he did with the letters without the computer.
Of course, we went a few rounds of naming the letters and I ran to get the camera out and that's always when he decides he's not going to be as cooperative as before. So, I posted two of the videos that I got. They're pretty much the same thing, but I couldn't decide which one to post so you get them both. I apologize for the dizziness you will probably experience while watching these. I had to concentrate on not letting Jacob snatch the camera out of my hands.
I tried to get him to count on one of the videos as well, but he didn't feel up to it I guess. Yesterday morning he crawled into bed with Scott and I at 6:30 and started talking to himself as usual. Out of the blue we heard, "Un, doo, dee, bore". Scott and I whispered to each other, "Did you hear that?" We have no idea what he was counting but were thrilled that he did it without either of us initiated it with, "One... ... ... two... ... ..etc."
Evidently I make my ones very similar to an "I". On the first video if you listen closely when I ask him to name the "1" he says, "I".
Thank you all for checking in! God bless! Scott, Kim, and Jacob

Kim, that is the best video so far! He says Grandma and Grandpa so well! I cannot believe the letters he knows already! I can't wait to see him in March! Can you work on him saying Aunt Kori?!?!?
Love - Kori
We work on Aunt Kori daily and still he neighs when we ask him to say your name! Someday you'll have to tease him about that!

WOW! thats awesome! I know you shouldn't compare but James only counts when he's jumping off the couch! "aahhnn doo whee!" LOL!
Love the videos
I am amazed at that kid!!! I'm so glad he's picking up more and more words because I know how worried you were about that. And then to know some of his letters -- WOW!! Can't wait to see him in a few weeks - hope you're staying awhile!
OK, someone order me one of these computers quick! Colby and I need to start working on her letters so that she can beat Jacob's genious level of knowing his letters at the age of 2!
Congrats, Kim and Scott!
