Well, it's bright and sunny up here in Northern Minnesota! Our thermometer reads 54.7 degrees!! Amazing, considering a little over a week ago we were watching a foot or so of snow fall to the ground! All of that has almost disappeared and we're left to look at a brown view from our windows! If only the color of the trees and grass changed overnight like our weather did this weekend! "Soon, soon, soon", I keep telling myself. Scott has started calving and that's always so much fun! We get so excited to see what calves come everyday and it also helps speed us through the transition into spring! Can you tell spring fever is going through our household?! Well, at least for me! Scott is outside most of the day with the cattle, Jacob obviously does not know how wonderful it would be to be outside right now, and I am anticipating a walk in this gorgeous weather. Young Jacob however, I believe, is bound and determined to eliminate the walk from Mommy's plans! It's been a rough morning, due to, we believe, a tummy ache! This poor child had to have inherited the worst digestive system possible! We've started feeding Jacob soy formula at night instead of regular formula labeled "For Fussy and Gassy Babies", as recommended by many experienced mothers with fussy and gassy babies! Daddy is proud of his little soybean farmer! Mommy has also worked really hard this week to cut back and almost completely cut out dairy products in her diet. Jacob seemed to be doing well until this morning, but he has finally laid down for a nap; only about five hours past our original effort! But, it's a nap and we'll take it! Poor Daddy would come home from checking cows every time today to a screaming baby! I guess we could say, "Poor Mommy" too, huh! Any who, this tummy problem completely put a damper on our venture outside that I had planned so we'll maybe try for tomorrow. The weather is supposed to stay in the forties for a few more days anyway! Hopefully we can make it out sometime! I find myself willing to do anything to get out of the house!
Speaking of getting out of the house. Scott and I ventured to Thief River Falls twice this weekend to watch the Clearbrook-Gonvick girls and boys basketball teams play in sub-sectional tournaments! The girls lost Friday night, but the boys won on Saturday and are playing again on Tuesday! Yay!! Another outing for me!! Anyway, Friday night, Jacob visited Great Uncle Darrell and Great Aunt Karen while we went to the basketball game. A couple pictures below are of Jacob in the onesie they gave him! Of course, the John Deere attire was appropriate for his visit!
We also had visitors Saturday night! Matt and Melissa Larson came to meet Jacob and unfortunately he wouldn't have anything to do with anybody but Daddy! As soon as Scott would pass him off, he'd scream! Both Matt and Melissa did their best to help us out but Jacob would have none of it! He just wanted Daddy!
Well, we hope the weather is treating all of you as well as it is us way up nort'! Have a great week!
