Jacob has also realized throughout the past couple of weeks that feet make great toys! He loves playing with his feet now. Under his barn he has figured out how to kick at the dangling cow, sheep, and pig. So, now, he gets all four limbs batting at the farm animals and makes quite a ruckus. When it gets quiet we start to wonder what he's up to. At these moments we usually find him across the floor heading towards something he's determined to reach.

Latest Talents
Besides laughing constantly with his Daddy and fitting his entire fist in his mouth, Jacob has again shown off his motor skills in the last couple of weeks. He has now figured out how to scoot around on his back. He starts by trying to see what's behind him and then ends up pushing himself around with his feet. Aunt Kendall and I discovered this new talent while we were visiting on the couch and Jacob was playing under his barn. We paused our conversation and realized Jacob was no longer under the barn, but instead, was practically under the end table next to the couch we were sitting on. Two of the pictures show Jacob's excitement after we found him.

What a little stink!!!! I'm thinking your "high maintenance" child is going to become even more "high maintenance" as he becomes more mobile!! You'll look back on the last four months and think you had it pretty easy (well, maybe not - depends on whether he starts sleeping through the night or not. Right?)!!
Watch out, world--Jacob has developed MOTOR skills and there'll
be NO stopping him now. He's such a cutie-pie, I sure hope you've put
up those gates!!!
Love, Grandma B.
Jacob is going to be crawling before you know it!! Does he spend much time on his tummy? Also, it is amazing how much he has grown, he looks sooo big!!
Love you,
Aunt Gail
I try to get him to play on his tummy but it's a challenge. He usually just rolls over so I have to be right there or else he's back on his back again. Since he started scooting on his back, I've been working with him on his tummy more and more.
Better keep an eye out for rug burns on the back of his head!!! Probably his elbows and heels of his feet, too!!!!
