Bumbo

As we're approaching Jacob's "5 month" mark, we're noticing his gain in comfort for those things which seemed to frighten him so much a month or two ago. For instance, the Bumbo. This seat which everybody claimed to be a lifesaver when your child wants to sit up with everybody else, seemed to only last with our child for about five minutes before he would throw a fit of rage! Lately, however, we have been able to sit Jacob in his seat on the table and enjoy ourselves for close to an hour! Jacob amuses himself now by trying to reach everything in sight! He has recently figured out that he can reach such items as the salt and pepper shakers and a water bottle on the table. We now have to clear the area around Jacob of anything hazardous and fill it with his toys! These pictures were taken by Aunt Kendall after Jacob had eaten his cereal. Yes, he is getting so big!

I wish they had had those seats when the twins were little. Do you think they make something big enough for them now??? It would be great to be able to immobilize them once in a while ;)

What I want to know is -- Can he sit in his Bumbo without holding onto one foot? Thanks so much for the pictures, Kim (and Kendall)!! You can't imagine how nice it is for us to be able to watch him grow!!

Jacob can hardly do anything anymore without having at least one foot in his hand and usually it's up to his mouth if he can reach it. He did find a fun new toy tonight...Aunt Kendall's water bottle. It's small enough for him to hold onto and he loves watching the water move around in it. Aunt Kendall doesn't like the slobber all over it though!
He's doing a great job with cereal now! He sits patiently and opens his mouth for the spoon everytime. Of course, most of the time he's also trying to shove his hands into his mouth! Crazy kid!

As I've said before "isn't parenting GREAT???" And Fun,too.
You have the advantage of the 21st
century and all the technology that
goes along with it. I'd never even
heard of a Bumbo and it is SOOO
funny looking!!!Glad to hear that
Jacob has accepted the feeding of
cereal,too.
Oh,Gail they DO make something big enough for the twins...it's called
a CAR!Love to all, Grandma B.

Tua and Jacob have matching Bumbos! He looks like he is doing very well, especially in the drooling department :) We have had to come rescue Tua from her crib b/c she rolls onto her tummy in her sleep and wakes up scared. Do you have any advice?
