Reasons that it has been two weeks since our last post:
A Cold
- Sunday, March 25, kept us busy with a fussy Jacob. Obviously we are used to Jacob in this state but hadn't had to deal with it for about a week! Monday, Jacob still seemed to have lost his newly found happiness! Tuesday, we woke up and saw why our poor little boy was back to his fussy state! Red cheeks, red chin, pale skin, droopy eyes, and a hoarse voice revealed Jacob's cold! The poor baby was miserable all day! He didn't scream, just moaned all day long with what voice he had left! All week Jacob suffered this cold which was brought into the house by me and then transferred to Scott and Jacob both. It kept me busy tending to both of them! Jacob finally started feeling better by Thursday morning, but wasn't yet back to normal...well, whatever is considered normal for Jacob. Anyway, I was concerned I'd have to postpone the next reason nothing has been posted....our road trip.
A Road Trip
- Jacob and I were supposed to leave Friday afternoon to start our journey down to Illinois. We had plans to be there for a week (through Easter) and I wasn't sure we were going to make it after the week we had been having. Friday morning we got up, packed, and observed Jacob to make sure we thought he could endure the long trip. Friday night we had planned to stay with Honorary Auntie Jen in Byron and Saturday, go to a wedding of our friends, Matt and Missy, then leave Sunday morning for the seven hour drive to Manito. Jacob seemed to feel much better; not quite the happy boy we had the week before, but much better than the previous four days. So, Jacob and I headed off, leaving Daddy to deal with calving and lots of rain!
Jacob was WONDERFUL in the car! He slept for four hours then woke right when I needed to fill up with gas! When he did wake, he was content just looking out his window or at his reflection in the mirror! What a great traveling buddy!
A Wedding
- Saturday afternoon Jacob and I joined our many friends from UMC in Owatonna, MN for a wonderful wedding! What a great time visiting everybody and introducing them to Jacob! Everybody was such great help too! Max, Jen, Jessi, Dallas, and Laura all helped tremendously since Scott was not there to give me a hand with Jacob!! The wedding was beautiful and the dance was a great time!
A Digital Camera
After all of this time and all of these new adventures for Jacob, I bet you are wondering where all the pictures are! Well, who knows! I made sure I had the camera with me constantly throughout this trip! I couldn't wait to post Jacob's first trip to Illinois, his meeting all of Scott and my friends, and his arrival to Manito! I had wonderful pictures of Max feeding Jacob, Jen and Jessi entertaining him, Dave and Ashley holding him, Jacob chilling out with his feet in the jacuzzi with Jen and Jessi, Dallas "babysitting" him while I was dancing, Emma, Anna, and Ella greeting him, Jacob meeting Gail, Mark, and Matt for the first time, and Jacob and Ella watching TV in the girls' mushroom chairs! However, with one push of a button, all these wonderful memories were gone! Yes, I'm kicking myself still, after my absentminded decision to push the wrong button and completely erase all of the wonderful pictures I had to share with you! Needless to say, yesterday morning I was busy shedding tears over my technological mistake! I guess those memories were just meant to be kept with those that were there and only be shared by stories, not pictures! I'm sorry to those friends who were so anxious for me to post pictures of our wonderful weekend and trip! We look forward to seeing you again and hopefully getting some pictures to keep!
Jacob is sleeping now and I don't have any pictures at the moment to share. I do promise though that there will be some posted within the next couple of days! Tomorrow I travel to Chicago to pick Scott up at the airport! I'm anxious to see him and I know Jacob will be full of smiles too as every time he hears a man's voice I can tell he's looking for Scott's face!
I hope we haven't lost too many viewers since it's been so busy and so long since we've filled you in! Stick with us! I promise I've learned my lesson on deleting pictures!!

No worries Kimmy...
I could have had pictures to share too if I wouldn't have been an air head that day (forgetting the batteries).
We'll have many more times to take pictures. So "chin up-chin up" as Charlotte (as in Charlotte's Web) would say.
Have a great Easter!!!
Love

Oh Kim!!! I'm sorry about the pictures. But I can attest that he is a happier boy than he was in January and even the first of March! I love to see him on the couch smiling and talking to me!!! And I'm amazed that he will watch TV as long as he does. I think we're really seeing his true personality coming out!! What a joy and a cutie-patootie!!!
Grandma Cooper
Hey Scott!! Can't wait for you to join the family. Have a safe trip!!
